“I will betroth you to me forever
Yes, I will betroth you to me
In loving kindness and mercy
I will betroth you to me in faithfulness
And you shall know the Lord”
Hosea 2:19-20
“I will betroth you to me forever…”
forever. Time is not in forever.
Time doesn’t exist for it is forever.
“Yes, I will betroth you to me…”
I think its interesting how he says this a second time.
Hey, I will betroth you to me…. No, I really will…yes, I know you doubt it
Yes I will…
Which goes on to show me just how well he knows our hearts. Like none other.
He knows we may need to hear this a few times to believe it.
“In loving-kindness and mercy…”
I need mercy
I need this love
I need kindness
Loving-kindness.
“I shall betroth you to me in faithfulness…”
There is a human tendency to doubt this. Why? Because there is such a lack of faithfulness anymore. Whether is be faithfulness to people, commitments, time with God, etc…
So for God to promise this, is essential to the core of our beings, to have a relationship with someone who is so faithful.
He will forevermore be faithful to love us.
“And you shall know the Lord…”
This truly excites my heart. I cannot fathom why he’d chose me. And to know Him is amazing.
well read hosea sometime
know it's not the most pleasurable
but quite lovely indeed
